We're not as trustworthy...

So... had an interesting lil' conversation at trap today, while waiting for the rest of my squad to show.

Got on the subject of concealed carry with one of the other shooters, and got the brilliant statement of "Yeah... a few years ago, I was all for it. Now, no way!". The exchange went something like this:

Me: "So... why not?"

Fellow Shooter: "Honestly... I now know too many crazy people! Wouldn't trust any of 'em with a gun!"

M: "Ok... so, because YOU know too many people, *I* shouldn't be allowed to defend myself or my family?"

FS: "Hey... don't do stupid stuff, you won't have a problem!"

M: "What about the other 48 states that have CCW? Are they just more trustworthy?"

FS: "No... we're just smarter! And most folks don't need to have a gun to defend themselves."

M: "Huh... *point at Spoon's backpatch* see that patch? That means we help abused kids. Are you saying my wife shouldn't be able to defend herself against an abuser we've crossed?"

FS: "Like I said: don't do stupid stuff!"

M: *BANGHEAD*

This is the kind of attitude we get here in the land of Cheese towords armed self defense. And y'all wonder why nobody outside of law enforcement (and those who ignore the law) can carry here?

I know stupid when I hear it, and that wouldn't be your side of that exchange. Bet that dumbass is a Democrat too.
Let him get mugged, and see what he does.

Funny thing about WI; I shot a Garand match there last winter. Afterwards, there was a live fire display of fully automatic guns: a Thompson, a Sten, and a BAR. But God forbid, you can't carry a handgun concealed.

Can you Jap slap the guy? You know the difference between a Bi**h slap and a Jap slap are right? Jap slap you squint your eyes like your Japanese cause you're concentrating to make sure you hit him 'em good and hard to try to knock some sense into the pea sized edifice they call a brain. If my comment offends anyone please feel free to delete it, it's not intended to be derogatroy in any way shpae or form.

Funny thing: I have a personal policy of never deleting honest comments (bots and SPAM need not apply). If what you wrote offends someone, they probably need a thicker skin...

The idiot in question wouldn't be helped with a slap (of whatever ethnicity). We just have to keep plugging along, and hopefully we'll overcome the fools.

Of course, there's a part of me that sometimes thinks I should be checking out the job possibilities in Indiana and Texas...
