Bad news... sometimes life just sucks...

Yep... just got a visit from my mom-in-law. Now, I like my mom-in-law... she's a really neat lady, someone I taught shooting, someone I'm happy to call family. And usually, someone I like talking to...

So she calls, and tells me she needs to talk to Spoon and I. My brain starts running through all the mistakes I've made, all the problems we've had over the last couple years: what does my mom-in-law need to talk to me about that she can't say over the phone?

Now, some of you may know that my old man went ex-pat to Thailand when mom died. His health has been failing the last year or so, and I've kinda been expecting a call from his friends there ("hi. You don't know me, but I was a friend of your father here in Thailand. He's dead now. Have a nice day!")...

Un huh... dad's been given 3-4 weeks to live, and wants to come home. This after no sleep, and personal troubles the last couple months.

Ever wanted to pick a fight with God, just to let out some agression? That's where I am now. Anybody know what bar he hangs out at, let me know: I got a few bones to pick...

You'd lose that scrap, Pirate. Believe me, I know. But afterwards, He'd pick you off the floor and buy you a beer (non-alcoholic if you're a Baptist).

Sorry to hear about your Dad.

thanks for the kind words, AD: it's appreciated..

And a glass of meade would be the prefered beverage. Of course, WHICH god it would be would be the big question (the danger of being a polytheist)...
